I painted this beach scene en plein air on a sunny afternoon, perched on some rocks in the dunes at North Shore.
 
I wanted to capture the lovely curve of the beach, the choppy waves, and the old wooden sea defences.
 
This is a watercolour and ink painting.
 
It measures approximately 12x8 inches unframed, 15x12 inches framed.
