Morning Sun on Westgate

I painted this lovely Louth scene en plein air on a beautiful spring day, sat just outside Westgate Fields. I loved the meandering view of the road into the distance, and how the sunlight was catching just a sliver of the front of the gorgeous houses.
 
This is a watercolour and ink painting.
 
I start by sketching out the scene in ink, then I add colour with layers of watercolour. And I love finishing with more detail in ink to add a bit more drama.
 
This painting measures approximately 12x8 inches unframed, 15x12 inches framed.
